Direct Links for Windows Live Components

First of all as you know to download windows live components such as Live Messenger, Live Mail, Photo Gallery…etc you have to download Windows Live Installer and download through that.

This method is the recommended way to install Windows Live products but sometimes the installer gets stuck halfway for no reason or if you want to reinstall you would have to download all over again.

So to end all those frustrations here are direct links to Live Components and instructions on how to install them.

1. Download from the below links

Sign-in Assistant (4.200.520.1)

Windows Live Mail (12.0.1606.1023)

Windows Live Messenger (8.5.1302.1018)

Windows Live Toolbar (03.01.0146)

Windows Live Photo Gallery (12.0.1308.1023)

Windows Live Writer (12.0.1366.1026)

Windows Live OneCare Family Safety (2.0.5817.2)

Windows Live Writer Update (12.0.1367.1128)

For the Windows Live Writer update file do not follow the below steps. Extract the .MSP file which is inside the cab file using winrar and install. (you need to have Live Writer installed first)

2. Now that you have downloaded you will be having an EXE file similar to this “mu_wlwriter_7ee55ff154a0c7d42a77540e12cc20efb3267f53.exe”. If you double click this EXE fill you will notice nothing happens. So what needs to be done is to extract the the actual MSI file which is inside the EXE.
3. To extract the MSI file you will need a Resource Editor.(I recommend ResHack or XN Resource Editor).
4. Open the EXE file from the resource editor (for this example I have used ResHack).

5. Select the “0″ in the MSI tree section(see screen shot). Select Action->Save Resource as a binary file. Save with a .MSI extension
