Weekly Tutorial | Technology - Google Custom Search Engine

Hello and welcome to CyberTrix’s first weekly tutorial on using and taking maximum advantage of today’s technologies found all over the web.

In this week’s Technology Tutorial we’ll give you step by step instructions on how to create your own search engine! There are many custom search technologies provided by major search engines out there but this week we’ll teach you how to create your own search using my personal favourite, Google Custom Search.

1. Getting there

Just type http://www.google.com/coop/cse/  in your browser’s address bar and hit enter. Once in the Google Custom Search Page click Create Custom Search Engine. (Remember, you need to have a Google Account to enter).

Step 1: Set up your search engine

Fill all the basic information required. Select I have read and agree to the terms of service and…..voila! There you have it.

Google will ask you whether you need to preview it or go right ahead.
